I guess I’ll start and add S25 to this thread. Furman and Richmond are his current top two choices, he’s interested in studying business, decided to apply TO most places, and has a 4.0 UW GPA with good but not outstanding ECs and recommendations.
When we visited Furman he attended a class on Entrepreneurship and the professor had him come to his office afterwards to talk. It had a big impact on him and Furman moved way up. Greenville is so great too and he loves that he could bring him car freshman year. Assuming he gets in and receives a good merit scholarship, Furman is very high up there.

My S25 will also apply and is one of his favorites. Similar stats as prior post but will report his 30 ACT. Also interested in business/finance. One concern is that you have to apply for a business major after first year and when we visited they would not disclose percentage of acceptance into business. Also looking for good merit (avoiding Richmond since merit seems unlikely).

Agree about Richmond, we’ve told s25 he has to get something or it’s out. Unlikely!
D25 still has to finish her essay, then she’ll apply to Furman. We’ve been in SC for a few years and love our college choices and merit from the state. She also has 4.0 uw and will apply TO. Beautiful campus and we think the tour will provide clarity. Our SC neighbors said that they give generous merit aid, so we’re hoping that is true.

They are very generous. My D23 had Furman on her final list of schools, she had a 3.7UW and received 28k in merit. She didn’t attend but we loved the school and hope S25 will strongly consider it.

Our first choice! Son has 4.0 UW GPA. Lots of volunteering and clubs. Applied EA. Prayers up!

Has anyone heard any Furman decisions yet? My son was admitted to Wofford last week with a solid scholarship, but no word from Furman?
I think it’s mid January for decisions isn’t it?

I saw that… I am holding out hope as ED II deadline is Jan 15th and they may make the play… you are deferred but could apply EDII for some… I think we will know by 1pm

My husband seems to think that if the decision was going to be today it’s probably already set to automatically update and the office being closed won’t matter. Who knows though?

I would think there would have been an email saying decisions are being released at X, no?
