<p>ellie- I’m about 99% sure that I’m going to Tulane. They have all kinds of awesome courses in ancient mayan archaeology, language, and civilization and, if I’m not mistaken, have the world’s largest collection of mayan artifacts outside of central america. Which is awesome for someone who wants to study ancient central and south america.</p>

<p>fromthesouth - Read it! It’s totally amazing! It’s not really too sci-fi ish, but it’s an amazing book. So y’all, go read The Road haha. Actually they made it into a movie… I wonder if it was any good. </p>
<p>I don’t mean to start a big debate and such, but Obama as a hero? Really? I feel he is so overrated. Let him have his term in office before we do this please… If all goes well, then we can obsess.</p>

<p>I didn’t choose to live in Washington. My parents were graduate students at WSU when I was born, so…
But Seattle is kick-ass. Though my saying this may be considered blasphemy, Seattle is probably cooler than New Orleans. Unfortunately, though, I live more than three hours from the Emerald City.</p>
<p>I agree with you Ellie…Obama is completely overrated and IMO not someone to be admired I mean c’mon having an anti-gay pastor do your inauguration?</p>

<p>About the Obama thing:</p>
<p>As a pretty dedicated Obama support (I worked for his campaign and attended the DNC in Denver), I can say, unequivocally, that even the most vehement Obama supporters do not consider him to be the Messiah or divine in any way. The reason I wrote that he was one of my heroes was that Obama has lived an extremely successful life despite seemingly insuperable adversity. I don’t know how he’ll govern, and anyone who claims to be so clairvoyant as to know what kind of president he will be is lying. I do believe, though, that he is someone to be admired and is certainly not overrated.</p>
<p>Yeah I know, I wasn’t directing that at you. And I didn’t mean the Messiah thing literally. I was just referring to people that believe that the second he takes office all of the world’s problems would be solved, which might imply some form of divine power, the messiah bringing peace and prosperity to all the world. </p>
<p>While I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high, I have been very please so far with many of his cabinet appointments, particularly in the environmental and energy related positions.</p>
