<p>I recently applied for RD at Whitman and am awaiting a reply. Since Whitman is my first choice school, I’m curious about what my chances are. I have several back-up options, but I would like an idea of what to expect, possibly.</p>
<p>Here’s what was on my application:</p>
<p>Academic Record–
GPA: 3.82 (cumulative)
SAT(composite): 1990 (780w,590v,620m)
AP scores: US History-5, English lang/comp-4
HS Courses: usually 2-3 advanced/AP classes, currently in my 3rd year of French, consistently involved in Music (auditioned symphony orchestra).
Courses for '09-'10: AP English Lit/comp, AP Gov and Politics, Precalculus, Physics (1 semester), French 3</p>
<p>ECs–
Music is my main EC, I’ve played trumpet for 7 years
–One year in Seattle Youth Symphony Debut Orchestra
–Currently in an auditioned symphony orchestra (my 3rd year with Evergreen Philharmonic)
–Been in two brass quintets that advanced to the WA state competition
–Accepted into the All State Band and Western International Honor Bands (WIBC)
–Played in pit orchestra for several shows, as a volunteer (4 at my High School, 1 in my community)
I’m also a swimmer
–4 years on my High School’s swim team, (JV letter)
–I work as a swim instructor for children and adults at a local club
Community Service
–Tutor for a middle school student at my church
–Relay for Life (ACS)–2 years, captain in 2009
–Volunteered with Side-by-side, an organization through University Presbyterian (at a one week camp over the summer)
–I’m on a website design/configuation team for my orchestra (copy editor)</p>
<p>So…maybe?
I’m not sure when admissions decisions will start coming out, but I’ll know by the end of March.</p>
