<p>they aren’t required, but the only chance to take them is during freshman year. there are many interesting FYI’s, and it would be to your benefit to take any that catch your eye, because they won’t be available again</p>
<p>this is Wesleyan, nothing’s required. they make you sign up for one during summer registration, but you can just drop it during drop/add if you’re not interested in it. </p>
<p>that being said a lot of them are really great, and it’s good to have a class that you know will be small since a lot of the intro classes you may be taking your first year will probably be on the larger size. you can take more than one, by the way.</p>

<p>no, it’s a regular class. they are simply small, 19 person max classes that explore topics you might not get in any other classes, and they are only open to freshmen.</p>
