I’m not super familiar with the inner workings of university admissions so I’m not sure where to look, but I was interested in finding out the acceptance rates of G.E.D holders to the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus. I’m assuming this would be transfer data as I’m not sure how you could get in as a freshman without high school records. I’ve searched their statistics from the Registrar and came up with more general demographic information, but nothing on G.E.D. Can anyone direct me where I should find the info, assuming it is even public or documented?
It’s a great question. There seems to be evidence on the admissions site that a few students with GEDs have been accepted as transfer students after achieving a stellar gpas at community college and top scores on the ACT/SAT. It’s an unusual situation, but it certainly can happen. If I were you, I’d call the admissions department or drop them an email. If the stats you’re looking for exist, I’m sure they’ll be happy to help you find them.
