I made 2 apps and know 4 programming/web design languages since I was 8 (HTML, Javascript, Java, Objective-C). I’m an Indian male and I want to major in computer science and minor in Spanish & Japanese. I live in the southeast if that helps with their geographic diversity. What school(s) would you recommend/suggest? (doesn’t have to be confined to these, but please tell me the chances of getting in to them) I’d be getting a scholarship for a full-ride to all of them, so they’re all equal in terms of cost. I applied ED to Stanford & Columbia.

Impressive that you were able to self-study Japanese and score a 720. You said last month that you were going to take the Japanese SAT II in Nov. which would have been yesterday. I’m curious how you know your score already? Also, in July you said your GPA was 3.6 and now it is 3.78 going to a 3.85? You must be putting up some pretty great grades so keep up the good work.

Well, for schools like Columbia and Stanford your grades, scores and EC’s would normally make your odds of acceptance pretty low. I don’t know how much being a QuestBridge finalist helps though.

The Japanese score is an estimate; I should’ve put a question mark in there. I’m pulling all A’s and IB classes really pad up my GPA nicely. I’m really determined to get into Stanford. Not expecting much with ED, but more of a decent chance in RD, which it will roll over into for QB finalists. I expect my SAT scores to again go up significantly (+150-200?). Match for GA Tech?

What other colleges do you guys suggest that I’d match with? UNC maybe? I think my GPA may be too low… Also, what SAT score should I aim for to get into Stanford?
