gah.. "chances" for an oddity living in Hawaii? :)

Ahoy there… from the rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean aka Hawaii. No, there are no grass shacks and we dont eat pineapple everyday so dont even ask. Anyways, I was hoping you kind souls out there could tell me whether or not I was WAY out of reach for SFS or that there might be some glimmer of hope that I could get in? Sorry, I know this stuff was supposed to be over and done with eons ago, but hey I live in Hawaii so we’re always behind

Meet Veronica the Cynic - indeed, a rare specimen of mankind only found on the island of Oahu O:]

Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
Ethnicity: Chinese
Gender: Female
High School: Private Catholic ALL GIRLS school (it truly is the epitome of an ultraconservative school)
Graduation year: 2007
GPA: 4.11 W (freshman year wasnt my best, but my grades have drastically improved since then)
Rank: 6/148 (within top 5%)

Standardized tests (the bane of my existence):
-SAT Reasoning: 2020
CR: 700, M: 650, W: 670 (gah, yes I know my SAT scores are AWFUL - I gave up retaking them… standardized tests just need to die!)
-SAT II Math 1: 670
-SAT II Math 2: 740 (yes, I too find it quite sad that I did worse on Math 1)
-SAT II US History: 710
-SAT II Lit: 750
-ACT: 31

AP:
-Currently taking: AP Calculus, AP Econ, AP Spanish, and AP Lit/Comp
-Previously taken:
AP Art History - 5
AP US History - 5
AP Lang/Comp - 5
-Will have taken all 7 AP classes that my school offers (well, it is a pretty darn small school)

Extracurriculars:
-Model United Nations
-Pacific and Asian Affairs Council (PAAC) - basically, it’s an uberly awesome Hawaii-based outreach program aimed at enhancing global awareness
-National Honor Society
-Sociedad Honoria Hispanica (SHH) - the equivalent of a Spanish National Honor Society

Leadership:
-President of Model UN
-President of PAAC
-WorldQuest Chair (WQ is a quiz game)
-Vice President of SHH

Community Service:
-Total of 372 hours - consists of helping various organizations, coordinating different activities, and assisting my art teacher with her summer school classes

Something relatively interesting about myself?:
-Parents+sister immigrated from Hong Kong so I’m the first in my family born in US - I’m ABC (yay for the American-born Chinese!) and can speak Cantonese
-This past summer I received a scholarship to participate in a one month study abroad program to China. Program was concentrated on a 2 week summer camp in Baojing, China (incredibly remote town hidden in the mountains of Hunan Province, one of China’s poorest regions) where I became a teacher/chaperone to a group of underprivileged Chinese students. I taught them an English lesson everyday and helped to improve their speaking skills - it was an incredible experience!
-Something totally irrelevant but who cares: I am obsessed with Model UN, PAAC, and folding paper cranes!

Oookay… well I’m sure I left something out but tonight my mind is not working properly so yes… dont blame me - blame my teachers who have deprived me of precious sleep! But yea anyways, I just really want to know if I stand a chance (even an itty bitty one?) against hundreds of more qualified applicants applying to SFS -sigh- so any comments would be greatly appreciated :D

Speaking Cantonese will help you, and your ACT score is probably more impressive than you SAT.

It will be hard, but you certainly have a reasonable chance.

My SAT scores were only slightly higher than yours, and I got the same score in math. My ACT was only a point more than yours. I hadn’t taken SAT II’s yet, and you have, you also did well on AP exams, speak Cantonese, and are from an interesting background.

As long as you did/do talk about why you want to be at SFS, why it will help you in the future, and how your experiences have led you to it, helped you get interested in it, ect… I’d say you have a good chance. They want people who want to be there, and I think that showing you’re passionate about the school and how it will connect you to what you want to do for a career really helps.

Either way, Good Luck!
