Gaining experience in BioMed. Eng. industry as a Mech. Eng. major?

My goal is to eventually get a career in the Biomedical Engineering industry as a current Mechanical Engineering major. As i understand, many Biomedical Engineering or related field companies hire many of their engineers from the traditional disciplines.

So, how can I gain experience as an undergraduate student who is not a BioMed. Engineering student in that field?

What relevant but non-Biomedical Engineering activities and experiences would be good for me to have under my belt?

Bump.

Bump. Any advice will be fantastic.

Get internships with biomed companies, Johnson and Johnson has a biomed department filled with mech es. Join biomed clubs. You can do what they can do, unless the requirement to join is “must be a biomed major”.
