<p>I would be very careful about being so certain that your family income level is $40,000. People we know are self-employed and very “crafty” with their taxes/income and they got a big shock when the colleges saw their income quite differently from what their tax returns showed, after all of their self-employed paperwork was submitted.</p>
<p>Yeah but my dads tax return guy doesn’t take any risks and they are from verified tax returns so they can’t prove anything until a few years from now when we can’t push off any more income things. But thanks for the heads up!</p>
