I’m moving to Pittsburgh for grad school this fall and I’m wondering if anyone knows anything about and “geeky”, gaming-related clubs. I’ve checked the school website and found some sort of LAN club, but I’m looking more for card games like Magic the Gathering, board games maybe.
On another note, would there happen to be a sort of “Get on Board Day” like my old school had, a day at the beginning of the semester for clubs to set up tables and advertise?

Yes. The activities fair is the Sunday before classes start (so August 23) in the afternoon up at the Petersen Events Center (the Basketball Arena). Generally from about 1pm-5pm, although the earlier you go the better (clubs start packing up and leaving a little early). Fair warning- there are HUNDREDS of clubs and societies at this fair and it’s easily overwhelming.

Sorry you’re right. I’m used to Labor day being earlier in September which generally pushes the first day of classes back a week. The activities fair will be on Sunday August 30!
