Gannon University

Does anyone here have any overall experience with this school? My daughter is interested in their 5 year Physician Assistant program. Also, does anyone know how difficult it is to get into this program? It says they only take 58 students per year.

I would love to know more about this too.

Sorry I’m responding so late. My son (groom in this picture) graduated from the program. When he applied, it wasn’t as competitive as some other programs. What he liked about it was a GUARANTEED spot in the graduate program, as long as you maintained grades. Some programs admit 100 and then cut them down to 58 during the first 3 years. Another nice thing is the university is larger than most that have the 5 year program, which means more chances to participate in athletics, greek life, clubs, etc. Another nice thing was Hamot Hospital within walking distance of the campus. They hire students to work part time. Scholarships are decent. The biggest negative of the school is the area isn’t the best. Teenage thugs were known to rob drunk students walking home by themselves at night. All the crime statistics used to be published in the Erie Times, so you can see it online. The winter weather is also fairly brutal. They had record snowfall this winter.
