Public and private sector inclusive…</p>

<p>What are some of the programs having lots of “prestige”…define that as you will.</p>

<p>Anyone know of any gap year programs involving teaching technology to youths, or engineering development in locations outside of the U.S.?</p>

<p>The gap year is a year when you take a year off of school between high school and college, right?</p>

<p>Take it if your son/daughter wants, but he/she should recognize that it will be an expensive year. Engineering majors make about $50,000 a year after college, so a gap year is equivalent to about $50k in lost income.</p>
