<p>Under the education interruption section, it states: Please indicate if your progression through secondary school was or will be delayed or interrupted in any way. Check all that apply.</p>

<p>I graduated from HS in 2011 and will be applying this year. I had to take two years off for mandatory national service as a Singaporean citizen. Would the two years of military service qualify as a gap year even though it did not interrupt my “progression through secondary school”?</p>

<p>Yes,you are a gap year student.Traditionally,you were suppose to apply for admission,the year you enlisted for military service and then deferred your admission if you had been admitted.Just make sure you tell the admission officers what you have been doing the past 2 year.Best of luck :)</p>
