I was reading through this information but did not really understand this. How would you apply to this program from high school? Or do you automatically apply when an application with pre-med or bioengineering is checked off?

And what is the deal with the GPA needed in high school to apply?
@qazwsxe11, If you indicate “pre-med” on your application and submit your application before December 1, you will be considered for the Med GAP. You provide your GPA, SAT/ACT scores, etc. to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid when you apply as an undergraduate student at Pitt. If you meet the eligibility requirements, then you will be notified that you are able to apply for the Med GAP. At this point, the School of Medicine will contact you in order to get a little more information to support your candidacy.
Some more info about the Med GAP process and other GAPs we offer can be found on our website: https://oafa.pitt.edu/who-fits-at-pitt/guaranteed-admissions-programs/medicine-gap/

Is there anything I can do in high school to increase my chances of being selected to this program? Is there anything you guys look for?
@qazwsxe11, I would encourage you to look at the web link I posted in my previous response. It goes into detail about what we look for and what the whole application process looks like.
Hope that helps!
