Also the program is competitive but based on what I heard, it is like 20 to 25% . It is not like RSI or SIMR from Stanford. Anyway, that is no the main point here. It is an excellent program anyway.
i do not think so. My daughter was not waitlisted. she was rejected.

The program def doesn’t have a 20% acceptance rate……
I would guess it’s 10% or less… therefore students with outstanding stats are often rejected… likely comes down to essays and fit.
Also getting in as a rising junior is incredibly tough in any of these top programs….
Hi, sorry that I just saw this message. I am an international student. Research experience may be necessary for Garcia, since some of my friends who are really good at academics but lack research experience were also rejected. I had done individual research which is quite difficult (I think?) and it involved both computational part and lab experiments. These are the main things I talked about in my application documents.
Hi. I was accepted to the Garcia Summer Program 2024. I am wondering if there anyone interested in becoming a roommate since the housing form can allows students to fill in a name as their roommate. Here are some my info for you to consider me as a roommate:
- I am a boy.
- I am a rising senior (over 18).
- I go to a boarding school so I pretty much know the drill.
- Usually sleep around 11:30-12:30.
- Prefer someone also go to breakfast in the morning.
- Not extremely tidy, but definitely not a big mess.
