<p>888, if the GATE program at your high school was particularly rigorous, ask your counselor to write a description of it in your letter of recommendation. Unless you want to address your participation in your essays or your interviews, the counselor recommendation can be a good place to include the info. Also, if you ask any of your GATE teachers to write letters, perhaps they can talk a little about it too.</p>
<p>I don’t think they know. In elementary school all your subjects are taught at a “GATE-level” if you scored high enough on the test. Once you’re in high school it’s not like they’ll put you in both AP English and AP Calc against your will. If it means anything I scored REALLY low on the test. I scored so low that they didn’t even tell me what score I got; they just said “You scored below the 50th percentile.” I was really stupid…</p>
