<p>1) DONT JUST CHECK YOUR MAILBOX! Check ANYWHERE near your house (aka front doorstep/etc.). I’ve been freaking out b/c I haven’t gotten anything in the mail but my mom went out the front door today and bam, there it was! (We usually go in/out through our garage).
2) I tried calling and plugging in my social security yesterday and it didn’t work. So don’t lose hope!
3) I didn’t get an email either!
4) I posted this before but I’m Asian from Georgia!

<p>There were some people in CA that received theirs yesterday. I just received my package today.</p>
<p>@ Kisho3, are you an Asian American? I’m worried because several other Asians in CA got theirs on Monday, and I still haven’t received anything yet.</p>
<p>Still nothing for me today. But honestly if I was rejected I bet the rejection letter would have been here by now. Plus I haven’t heard of any other NA in NorCal who have received the package. Hopefully the mail brings some news tomorrow!</p>

<p>Don’t worry about emails, everyone who hasn’t heard anything YET! I received the scholarship and have not received any emails from GMS yet…
Also, do not be discouraged if you have not received a package yet; they have barely been sent out, and depending where you live, it may take until May 1st to receive it (according to GMS).
For current scholars, does anyone know if we receive a laptop? My sister got the gates in 2009 and got a laptop, but I think it may have been because a laptop was a requirement with the books and supplies… it would be greatly appreciated if someone could clear this up for me!

<p>@moocow2: Hey, I’m an Asian female from Miami, FL and I received my packet yesterday. It was postmarked for the 15th, came in regular mail, and I didn’t get an email. Don’t waste your time checking to see if your SS# is in the system because it doesn’t update until the Monday after (or so I believe since my GMSP ID isn’t active until the 25th).
@expectopatronum: The GMS pamphlet specifically states that we cannot receive finances for computer related expenses. However, if it is a part of your books/supplies, then it will be covered by your unmet need.</p>
<p>Didn’t they say that you would be e-mailed if you didn’t get it? So as long as you didn’t get an e-mail, are you pretty much safe?</p>
