The scholarship pays for unmet need including self-help (loans and workstudy), but it does not pay for Family Contribution, which is not necessarily the same as the EFC from FAFSA. Even if your FAFSA’s EFC is zero, the particular school may use their own algorithm to calculate what they consider to be your Family Contribution, which may be much more than the EFC from FAFSA because many schools use info gathered from CSS Profile which reveals income assets and income not explored by FAFSA.

Good luck to everyone!!! I know my chance are slim to nothing since I am over the Pell Grant Eligibility by $400 but there still may be a sliver of hope Anyway, no matter what the outcome, you guys are awesome.

African American from Arizona! Im just so nervous. I am just so nervous and the gms is all i have been thinking about lately. I think I have the EGS (Extreme Gates Syndrome) where i have trouble falling asleep just thinking about it. Its constantly on my mind and that is super unhealthy. I just hope to continue to have patience untill the letters are received. Good luck to everyone!

haaaaa @sciman i feel the same way. especially looking back at past threads, I just love seeing how excited people get around this time. Also, my prom is this weekend too!

In this and other threads it has been stated that the letter is sent via USPS, not UPS. This is an important distinction. In other words, your regular post man/woman will deliver the letter, not the UPS brown uniformed/truck delivery service.

Unfortunately, no. They’re very vague over the phone as they don’t want to give out misleading information.
I suppose we must be patient and wait. :-)
