<p>The scholarship pays for unmet need including self-help (loans and workstudy), but it does not pay for Family Contribution, which is not necessarily the same as the EFC from FAFSA. Even if your FAFSA’s EFC is zero, the particular school may use their own algorithm to calculate what they consider to be your Family Contribution, which may be much more than the EFC from FAFSA because many schools use info gathered from CSS Profile which reveals income assets and income not explored by FAFSA. </p>

<p>even if i dont get a yes, i love sitting on the comp watching as one by one ppl are so happy they cant type corectly :wink: i did the same for the burger king scholarship 5 months ago, didnt win but i got to watch happy ppl try to type. lol</p>

<p>this week cant go by any faster. i get to wait for the gates decisions and weekend is also prom!! This could be the BEST or the worst week of my life…</p>

<p>African American from Arizona! Im just so nervous. I am just so nervous and the gms is all i have been thinking about lately. I think I have the EGS (Extreme Gates Syndrome) where i have trouble falling asleep just thinking about it. Its constantly on my mind and that is super unhealthy. I just hope to continue to have patience untill the letters are received. Good luck to everyone!</p>

<p>In this and other threads it has been stated that the letter is sent via USPS, not UPS. This is an important distinction. In other words, your regular post man/woman will deliver the letter, not the UPS brown uniformed/truck delivery service.</p>

I suppose we must be patient and wait. :-)</p>

I attend Homewood High School.
I have a 3.8 Unweighted GPA
EFC-0
My ECs are marching band, concert band, MIME Ministry, Youth Choir, Youth Mission, etc…
My Leadership roles are lead tenor, trumpet sectio leader, MIME Captain, Youth Mission President, etc…
I have about 400-500 hours of commmunity service.</p>
