I’m going to send in my documents tomorrow… whoop whoop. Actually, you can just fax them!

I’m really hoping I get the Gates Scholarship! I had a question though. I sent in my SAR and transcript by fax last week or so because that’s what I had. That’s okay because it said turn in everything as soon as each document becomes available, right? Because I just got my letter from UCSD as well. So I can just send in my UCSD acceptance letter alone, right? Because I’m going to do that, or should I send all 3 of the documents again, except together this time? I’m so confused! I’m also going to go insane because I had my old house phone number on there and we recently changed it! How will they contact me now, because I know that before, they would call me more than they would e-mail me.

nods They will accept things separately. Just fax whatever whenever. No need to re-fax documents.

bookwormgirl, I think I sent my docs in about a day or two after I got my email. I recommend that other finalists send their docs as soon as they can so that you can get a decision. I think that GMS probably has a good idea of who they want to accept if the people are eligible, so if you send your docs in then GMS may be able to give you your decision very soon, but do not totally give up hope until very late april because thats when a lot of people last year on this forum got their acceptance letter to GMS.

soooo…do they happen to send you a confirmation e-mail or something to assure you that they have received all the documents?

Woop! I got the scholarship!

Good luck all.

Psolo2: When did you submit your documents?

Everyone else: So that means I don’t have to resubmit all of my information? I hope you’re not trying to sabotage me, musechick2007. Cause that would really suck :(

DANGIT! YOU CAUGHT ME!

My wily ways have been discovered.

Honestly. That’s what they told me when I asked. shrug I guess you can call and ask yourself, though.

dlopez89 - I submitted my documents on March 18; I got my envelope on March 26.

I guess there aren’t any American Indians on here? I still haven’t heard from any if there are?

Everyone: I faxed my documents on 3-13-07 and I received my scholarship package on 3-26-07. I didn’t receive an e-mail notifying me of my scholarship.
The amount of the award will be determined based upon my financial aid award letter from my college. What surprised me was that the scholarship will apply to a masters and doctoral levels if I pursue graduate studies in the fields of education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science. (Becoming an engineer never looked soooo good!!!)

Well, I just faxed my documents yesterday, so hopefully I’ll be hearing something within the next couple of weeks. A big congrats to everyone so far!!

Good luck and congrats to those of you who won (sorry I have just disappeared, I have been in New York for the past few days) I think someone asked what number was on the corner of my second phase letter–There weren’t any, but I don’t think it matters. Best of luck!

I got the scholarship from APIASF!!!
I’m so excited. God is great! Good luck to all the other second phasers.
Have any other scholars gotten on our scholar site at gmsp.org? I can’t edit my profile or do anything. I know GMSP covers loan and work-study, but do they also cover EFC? And I also heard that we get like $2500 for books and school supplies and two round-trip tickets; is this true? Are there any other perks? Can current scholars fill us in.

to all the scholars that have been selected…where is everyone from??

I’m from Texas.

trev and y2k, how long before you sent all of your materials in were you notified about being scholars? just found out today that they still haven’t recieved my sar that i mailed 2 weeks ago. i’m going to try to find a fax machine to use tomorrow to fax it over

I’m from Washington.

I am from Southern Ohio…still have not sent my info in.
