**GATES MILLENNIUM 2016****

I’m guessing no one heard anything today. Maybe Monday?

I can’t believe nobody heard anything today

My mail comes on Saturday, too. Can it be on Saturday?

I’m going to prom tomorrow, but I know the whole time people are dancing, I’ll be awkwardly standing in silence thinking too much about this scholarship >.<

@Alamom I’m from Maryland, By the way, I visited George Washington University today and I have decided to commit. I hope I hear back tomorrow. If I receive any mail from GMS, you all will be the first ones to know.

I got an email from my GMS partner and I almost fainted lol
Turns out they were just responding to a question I had sent last week -___- I can’t
And tomorrow I’m going to UCLA bruin day I won’t be able to focus

@Ifeanyi1 Congratulations on your decision! I’m sure you feel better now that you know where you’ll be heading. If you could only make my son pick a darn school!

@Alamom Thank you! LOL! Just know that regardless of which school he selects, he is ultimately going to a good school and will succeed wherever he goes. Concern yourself with paying the deposit fee, if there is any.

Please keep posting and keep me updated  Lol. Anxiety is mentally hurting me.

Feeling anxious. If I’m not mistaken, I believe that CNMI finalists will be notified via email first as they did with the finalist notice because it typically takes three to four weeks for mail to arrive here via regular postal service. If anything, I will keep everyone updated. Good luck to everybody.

When I’m visiting a campus today all I’ll be thinking about all day is if my mailbox has been stuffed with good news back home :frowning:

My son received the Gates in 2013, so I can tell you how lucky the awardees will be if chosen. This scholarship has been a blessing to my family so much so, that I could not begin to explain. But allow me to share some of the blessings. My son attends UC Davis as a double History major and will be graduating after 3.5 years. He started working at a 15 hour a week job last summer as an office assistant in the Chancellor’s office. He lives off campus with a couple of friends and with his job and the Gates off campus allotment, he banks about $1300.00 a month. He pays $325.00 for rent and utilities and probably about $125.00 for food. That leaves him with an excess of $850.00 per month which he is banking for after graduation while he takes a year personal leave to work. Yes, Gates allows that. He will then go back for his Masters in Education and reinstate the Gates to cover that educational venture. His life is not stereotypical of all Scholars, but is a snapshot of the benefits for any awardee.

I am excited for all of you even thought I do not know you. I know what it has done for my family and my son and I wish those blessings on you and your families.
Best of luck =D>

That sounds so beneficial.

A tall glass of lemonade sounds beneficial right now in this sweltering heat

No Mail Today!

No mail either.

Same here.

Mailman pulled up with a large envelope that wouldn’t fit in the box and I got so excited but it wasn’t from Gates ! I headed to the box thinking it was in smaller envelope and still Nothing! Wish they would just update our status online!! Does it matter which group you are with? I saw a photo for Hispanic organization but have not heard from anyone else in the Native group. Good Luck to everyone –

@KickingBear The notifications for Native Americans are mailed from AIGC in Albuquerque, so the day yours arrives will depend on how far your home is from there.

Thank’s!! Do you know if they were mailed yet @northernAZ ?
