Hello, I am reapplying for NE Boarding Schools to 9th Grade this year as an international student with US citizenship.
Last year, I wasn’t really sure about the domestic vs international fees for the application fee step, and I paid some as domestic and some as international fees; as far as I was aware, all of the payments went through.
This year, I’m not sure whether I should do the same (considering some international fees are more than twice the price of the domestic fees); or will this influence my application process?
Thank you!
My US/dual citizen son emailed a few schools. They all said he is international despite citizenship. It is based on residency.
If it is unclear, email admissions at each school and ask. It is easy to do and a much better approach than guessing.
My understanding is that, regardless of citizenship, international residents pay the international application fee, which is what were required to do.
Whether that applies to every school would need to be confirmed by the school.
Thank you for all your responses. I have just emailed some of the schools.
Additionally, does anyone know how international/domestic fee affects the application (for instance, if I pay for the domestic fee will they regard me as a domestic student or the separation only for reasons like additional international taxes)?
