Gays

Are gay people common at Penn (are there are lot of gay people that are open about it) ? Is penn a gay-friendly community?

Doesn’t appear to be many. I’ve only seen a few gay’s. They weren’t dressed like women, but I’m certain they were gay. Now to be honest with you, they’ll be the least of your problems if you come here. Personally, I don’t think anyone really cares to be gay-friendly or not, so if that’s your preference you should be alright.

Yea but stats say that 10% of men are gay (if the stats are true) so that would mean that like hundreds of gay people at penn.
Not that I hate gays; I’m a female and I find gay friends to be really fun to be around. I was just wondering if they’d be easy to find, like if there’s a lot of gay guys that are out compared to other colleges.

Maybe I don’t notice so many because I’m not looking for them.

Students here seem pretty happy to me

notjcoveney, my what a creative name you’ve got.

anyways, Penn has the usual spectrum of gay groups on campus, and so if you’re looking for a lgbt community go there to find them. otherwise the gay community never goes around screaming “we’re gay!” except during pride week.

Funny that both schools’ communications programs (USC & Penn) are named Annenberg (After Walter Annenberg). Maybe he was gay?
