Gen Ed Requirement

Hey what cousres are we able to take to satisfy the Humanities/Writing part of our Gen Ed requirement?

does GeorgeTown have an premed Major? if so, is it good as compared to others>

It depends on if you got any AP credit. If you read the undergraduate bulletin, it will describe the requirements. For the first semester requirement you have to take a traditional english class. For the second semester there are more options. I took art history to satisfy my requirement and since I had one ap credit that’s all i needed. You can also take some music classes, and I think some theater classes to satisfy the second requirement. In the schedule of classes, which I think you should be able to see, it will tell you if the class satisfies are gen ed requirement.

There aren’t really any schools that have a pre med major. There’s a premed track which consists of a intro bio, gen chem, organic chem, prob/stat or calculus, physics and sometimes biochem. There are a few advisors to help students along with the track and prepare for admissions. Many people that are premed are science majors anyway so they take more classes that apply to premed, but you don’t have to. The bio department is one of the stronger departments, but the other sciences are particularly great.

I read the Undergraduate Bulletin but just want to make sure. Will a 4 on the BC Calc AP place me out of all math and science (assuming I want to major in Spanish or something along those lines)?

Yeah I would like to know this as well as I would like to avoid math as much as possible as well (hate it and sick of it (I am going through BC Calc though)).
