Flying out of terminal 2 on the 10th. I’ll be sure to look for them.
Rats. We will be arriving after that
Shucks, I will be arriving later this month too.
So everyone’s coming and going to SAN? Drop by and say hi!
I have always had exceedingly nice TSA experiences in Portland. I have pre-check but once got picked for additional scrutiny, and the agent actually apologized! But I hear you – a rude agent can sour a whole day.
Holy snakes…
High jacking the thread to ask…I’ll be flying into LaGuardia and then need to catch transportation to a hotel in the Brooklyn Bridge area (Brooklyn) . Two years ago flew into LaGuardia also heading to Brooklyn and grabbed a cab - it was super easy and I don’t remember it being much $$$ - like $30?
I’m not going to take public transportation (bus or subway) to the hotel - is a cab the way to go or another ride service like Uber??? I’ll be arriving lunchtime on a Tuesday.
oh wait- thought it was SF
This last guy died from pneumonia, I think…certainly less suspect than a gunshot suicide.
What the heck are people thinking to smuggle live things, like snakes in a plane? Yuck!
They don’t want to pay the pet transport fees that the airline has?
Doesn’t everyone have an emotional support boa constrictor?
I think the news said some kind of infection. Started sounding like the KGB!
“A Boeing whistleblower who warned about manufacturing defects in the 737 Max line of planes before being fired in 2023 died on Tuesday after contracting a fast-spreading infection.
Joshua Dean, 45, reported having trouble breathing a little more than two weeks ago and was taken to the hospital where he developed pneumonia and the antibiotic-resistant infection called MRSA, leading to his death, the Seattle Times first reported.”
All depends on “surge pricing”. Medallion taxi is a bit of a premium to normal Uber rates, but the surge premium can be substantial.
FWIW, my office is in Midtown and I’m a big fan of the public transit options to both JFK & LGA.
E train to the Airtrain for JFK. E/F train to Roosevelt Avenue/Jackson Heights and catch the Q70 express bus to LGA.
Thanks for the response! When you’re not from a big city with public transportation, I’m not especially eager to figure it out on my own, from the airport, with a suitcase, etc. From my hotel with just my feet, sure!
Not sure this question belongs here, but here goes.
Ground transportation - Athens (Greece)…from the airport to the Acropolis area (where my hotel is) - arrival around 6pm.
I’m thinking to hire a car service simply for the ease of not trying to figure anything out - would a taxi be much less expensive? I’m traveling solo (female) if that means anything.
Does anyone have a referral for a car service in Athens? Ideas? Suggestions?
We did this last fall! We used Welcome Pickups Athens for $72USD (may have been for both ways). Stayed at the Herodion Hotel (has an excellent rooftop restaurant with amazing views of the Acropolis). Very walkable area. Mostly followed Rick Steves’ self-guided walking tours from his app.
Welcome Pickups is well rated, and you can get a price through their app.
Thank you! My hotel (Acropolis View) has a rooftop deck overlooking the Acropolis - with a rooftop restaurant - seems to be a nice walkable area - I’ll look into the app as well.
Edited to include that there is a rooftop restaurant!
You can also ask the hotel if they have recommendations and how much. I just went to a resort in Mexico that includes the transportation from the airport to the resort but not back. We took a taxi back and it was about $35, so assume that amount is built into the room charge.
