General question

Hi everyone,
I’m currently enrolled at Valencia Community college in Orlando Fl. Valencia has an agreement with the local university (University of central Florida);when a student graduates with an A.A they are guaranteed acceptance into UCF with the pre-major of their choice (mine being Biology-Pre-med). From there I plan to apply at UF and UCF’s brand new medical school opening this year, along with every other med school under the sun. Here’s where my question lies, as long as I get my degree in Pre-med and maintain the GPA does it matter that I began at Valencia? Everyone is always talking about the more prestigious the better, I’m fairly sure Valencia isn’t prestigious and I’m not exactly sure what UCF falls into? If I’m doing everything right so far is there anything else I can do to prepare myself?

And yes I know study for MCAT

Sounds like a good plan! Keep up your grades, do well on the MCAT, and do medical ECs (EMT, Hospice, shadowing, RESEARCH). Within FL you will be a fine candidate! Remember there are a few other med schools instate: FSU, USF, FAU (new?). Be sure to apply to all. And you might want to consider DO as well.
