General SAT Curve

When is the best time to take the SAT, i.e., what month of the test date does the SAT give out generous curve??

My only options right now are october, november and december(is there one in dec?) of 2009…

^ Yup, a desperate senior I am.

There is no pre-set curve. The curve is determined after everyone takes the test, and will be in correlation to the test difficulty.

Here are the curves to expect from each respective section though (estimates may vary)

CR: Missing 0-2 definitely is an 800, sometimes 3 will work.
M: You have to miss 0 to get an 800, only rarely will missing 1 yield an 800.
W: This one’s tricky. You can get (a) a 12 on the essay and miss up to 3 M/C (b) an 11 on the essay and miss 1 M/C or (c) a 10 on the essay and miss no questions on the M/C in order to get an 800.

These are all approximations, but are pretty close to what it is for each month.
