General Score per missed questions

i cant really find this anywhere searching google…

what are the average scores per missed questions on each section…like -1= -2= etc. Not that familiar with the act
Thanks

It really depends on the section you’re talking about.

Ick… Hard question.

-0, -1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -7

English: 36, 35, 34, 33, 33, 32, 31, 31, 30
Math: 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 32, 31, 30, 29
Reading: 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 30
Science: 36, 35, 34, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28

Isn’t there a slight curve for reading, like -1 being 36 or -2 being 35? May not be, haha, just hoping that there is.

Well, it is not quite as simple as CantConcentrate says, but that is basically what you should expect. Often times there is some existence of a curve down near the 30-32 level, where more that one raw score will give the same actual score.

However, it is possible on very hard tests that -1 might be a 36, or -2 might be a 35. It can also be harsher, like -1 is a 34. If you look in the red book there are a few tests like this.

You can hope that there is a curve in this instance and it is possible, just don’t count on it.

thank you thats exactly what i needed. thanks
