So for my 2nd UC essay prompt, I talked about web development and what I have done in that field. As I was reading over it, I realized that I was saying things that a regular, everyday person might not understand. Am I supposed to write my essay assuming that the reader knows about programming, or am I supposed to explain everything I say. I’m scared that doing the latter will cut into my word count.
Unless you know for sure that your readers will understand your terminology, I’d err on the side of caution and explain things. It’s frustrating to read something that you only partially understand.
