general wes questions

Hello, I’m a bit new at this but, I have some questions:

Does Wes use superscoring for the SAT?
Does Wes require/recommend SAT subject tests/how many?
Would being a minority increase (at least a tiny bit) the chance of being accepted? (I’m a female korean-american)
What is the social scene/ people like?
How is the music scene on the campus? (student bands? that would be fun)
Any other schools a lot like Wes? (Wes is definitely my first choice though; I’ve researched schools like Vassar, Oberlin, Williams, Lewis&Clark, Reed)

Under-represented minorities: yes. Korean-Americans: probably not. But that’s okay, because it’s a holistic admission process and, in reality, the odds are extremely slim that there is an applicant exactly like you except that they are an underrepresented minority who, on that basis, would edge you out of that last available slot. As for the Male/Female thing: The admit rate for females is 2% lower than the admit rate for males. Again, if you’re a superstar, it won’t matter. And if you’re hopeless, it won’t matter. And you can’t change these things, so just apply and see what they think. But if you do apply and really consider it to be your top choice, consider visiting the Wesleyan web site. Like Google, it can answer questions and tell you things you want to know!
