Generic chance answer for super-selective colleges

@lemonlulu

Yes. I was trying to be comical, nothing more.

I think there is a structural problem and possible antitrust violation among super elite schools AO. Why do they only look for students with cookie cutter. The byproduct is the pity Chance Me postings. Don’t students not have enough pressure? Why a 3.8 or 4.0 UW GPA students need to worry if they are Star or champ in Swimming or tennis. Or with 200 volunteer hours? Or have research publications. When they don’t, other poster give a message to the student that are not good enough. I believe the most successful 1% people in life, top notch scientist, business man, not to mention athletes, “most if not all” do not have the profile of this cooked (crooked) resume.

I know this is demand supply issue but I always encourage young kid, student and knows the material inside out well. Gain the knowledge and find your future. Even you get in super elite school, your successful does not come from the schools. You make the school brighter , not the school make you smarter. To super elite AO, can you think out of the box, forget diversity, forget the cookie cutter, do it race-blind, gender-blind, cookie cutter-blind. Not only need-blind. If the next Nobel winner do not fit the shape of your cookie cutter, you probably miss a chance to have an Nobel laureate alumnus/alumna.
