geographical advantage

Does this matter at all? For example… i’m from the northeast and will be applying to Vanderbilt. Vandy only has 4.3 percent from the northeast… will this help me at all?

I think it varies from school to school.

At the minimum, if a school has two identical applicants fighting for one spot, the would take the student who offers more geographical diversity.

Some colleges also like to be able to brag about having students from 50 states or whatever. Also, some colleges look favorably on applicants from towns and HSs they’ve never had before.
