George Takei is my hero

[funny guy- but you gotta admit Hardawy set himself up](http://community.livejournal.com/damnportlanders/9210637.html)

LOL. Here I was expecting something Star Trekky…

Hardaway is proof that one shouldn’t look to sports figures as role models for anything in particular outside of sports.

!!!  :D

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/opinion/2003579772_pitts20.html

Leonard Pitts has a perspective I hadn’t considered-

George Takei is very funny. I hope the hate-filled Hardaway has had the opportunity to see that!

Excellent column by Leonard Pitts.

Hardaway’s comments were apropos what? Amaechi’s book, “Man In The Middle,” ?

whoops… just skimmed article in ek’s link. answer is “yes”

So any publicity is good publicity I guess.

Maybe Hardaway was still remembering what a poor player Amaechi really was. Nothing worse than a dog of a big man.

Very dumb comments to be sure. Ensured great book sales though.

This took me by surprise. Tim Hardaway was one of upright guys in the NBA. I remember his feud with that temperamental Latrell Sprewell and he was on the high-road. And Tim was the quinessential point guard. He was my hero.

I will excuse him as an out-of-character comment. And I choose to remember him the way I like about him before.
