George Washington B.A./M.D Program vs Out of State U.C. Berkeley

Hi all,

I have been admitted into GW’s BA/MD program with a presidential scholarship under the Biochemistry pathway and UC Berkeley with a Biochemistry path as an out of state applicant (no scholarship). I was wondering if anyone could give insight on

  1. Housing Pro/Cons
  2. Dining
  3. Academic Life
  4. Overall Opportunity for Medical School (Berkeley)
  5. Class size
  6. Professor Availability

This one is a no-brainer. Take the scholarship.

If you want to be an MD, why wouldn’t you take the scholarship?

Taking the scholarship makes sense. Also, I live 90 minutes from Berkeley and an immediate family member went there. Do not even contemplate attending UCB unless you’ve visited campus and spent at least a day there. It’s a place you’ll either love or hate and there’s not much middle ground between those two extremes.
