My son is reporting an acceptance but, because he’s at an all-day seminar, he cannot give more details.

Again another twist with GWU too. Offered Capital cities program through Harlaxton college in UK. Anyone have any idea about this?

First I’ve ever heard of this, did they include any other details?

This is what the offer letter says

Thank you for your interest in the George Washington University. Although obtaining a spot in our first-year class is not possible for every applicant, we would like to invite you to participate in a partner institution abroad this fall, then enroll at GW starting in the spring semester.

You were selected for this opportunity because of your desire to pursue a globally minded education. Your experiences throughout high school and your commitment to academic excellence demonstrate to us that you will thrive in this experience.

In your fall semester, you’ll take a full schedule of courses working with an academic advisor who is knowledgeable about GW’s requirements. As long as you maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 with no grade lower than a C, you’ll be guaranteed transfer admission to GW for the spring semester.

Students who select this opportunity will be global citizens and scholars, one of the hallmarks of a GW education. As a result, upon completion of this program, you will be invited to make international education a central part of your academic experience at GW as a member of our Capital Cities Scholars Program. This exciting educational opportunity will offer you a chance to delve further into international education. More information will be shared this fall.

Learn more about this opportunity under the Special Programs tab in your portal, then respond to your offer by April 15.

Where do they mention about the scholarship?

I got this too

@1520GAPurdue , do you see any scholarship?

Ah, so its sort of like an alternate entrance program. I’ve seen other universities like Texas A&M, and UT Austin do this before, but never abroad. Seems like an interesting opportunity!

Scholarships are usually mentioned on the actual admission letter itself, but if it isn’t showing for you I’d wait until they finally update the financial aid portal with information. Mine still says there’s nothing for the 2024-2025 year.

where’s the financial aid portal?

Go to this webpage, and click on “Applicants.” It’ll take you to a Microsoft login page - GW has a page on how to set this up:

Once you set up the account, it’ll look something like this:
