If you are interested, please do your research. Sounds like the first time for this program. In the past they had a Paris Scholars program with American University in Paris (not affiliate with AU in DC) with a similar second semester start.
Same here except son was offered the Paris Scholars program. Heâs in AP Spanish now, so it didnât even make logical sense.
Congrats to all joining GW in DC in fall!
D24 accepted for Psychology with Presidential Scholarship $25K. OOS. 3.96 gpa. She did not submit test scores. Varsity swim and Mock trial captain as well as other leadership and ECs and volunteering. Put GW in the running!
@cc70, are you considering the Paris program?
admitted into honors college! 4.0, 1470, solid ECs, $20,000 presidential scholarship
Daughter admitted to arts and science - political science major. 3.9 uw, OOS, no test scores. $17k president scholar merit.
IN! Corcoran Scholar in Corcoran School of Art (BFA Graphic Design).
90.1 GPA; 34 ACT
required to submit portfolio
kept in touch with regional AO and did on-campus tour (if they track demonstrated interest)
completely thrilled (and, tbh, a bit surprised!)!!
Raise high!
FYI: portal did not change. could not access the GW it.gwu.edu/gweb thing earlier so being able to access it was not a signâŠ
DS admitted with 25k presidential scholarship. 1540, NMF, rigor, good leadership. 3.9 unweighted and weighted (school gives grades out of 100 and AP/Honors get 2 points - GPA is just under 98 unweighted and just over 98 weighted). Doesnât appear to have gotten honors which is important to him. Did anyone get honors?
Paris Scholars
My DD was accepted to Elliot with $20k and similar stats, but no honors college either. Also very important to her, so Iâm curious if others got in as well. I would also be curious to know if there is a waitlist for honors??
No. He wants to go abroad but not his first year, and though GW was his top choice, he has other good offers that will give him what he wants.
The letter was just so unexpected and confusing. That bit was especially disappointing. Not rejected, not waitlisted, not really accepted, but go to Paris for a year and youâre in! ??
I totally agree and itâs disappointing. My daughterâs is just one semester and she can transfer back GW as long as she maintains 3.0 gpa. I do not really see any scholarship in the offer letter. I am not if they give the scholarship only after the transfer in the spring semester. The worst part of it they were asking us to commit by April 15th.
Anyone know if the financial aid (CSS) information is available yet?
FYI, my sonâs portal says he is an alternate for the honors program.
Someone else in this thread noted they didnât have any aid waiting for them upon their return so definitely get answers about that.
My son also really wants to be in an honors college, and he has offers from four, including at American, so I think we can eliminate GW. Iâm hoping he quickly refocuses since this was the last school we were waiting on, and this has been a LONG year!
Best of luck to your daughter!
@cc70 , even my daughter admitted to AUâs CLEG program. Are you considering AU? I am not hearing too good things about AUâs community and clubs so not sure but she was offered decent scholarship, itâs still bit expensive.
Accepted!
But where did you all see the scholarship information? Was it in the acceptance?
Good to know - where on his portal did it say that?
I received an email with the financial aid info shortly after the decisions were released.
Even weâre unable to figure out
