Hi, Congrats to your daughter. Could you please share what you think helped her admission? was she ED? GPA? EC? Demonstrated interest? Thanks a lot
Hi, I honestly think her essay put her over the top. It was a difficult essay and not one that she could âreuse.â She did ED2 although I was not in 100% agreement after ED1 disappointment, 4.0 UW, did not submit scores and went on a school tour (this was what actually made her want to do ED2). Let me know if you have any additional questions and you can feel free to private message me as well.
Sorry I am new . How do I PM you please?
Did she apply ED1 and was deferred? Did GW have a specific essay prompt that you cannot reuse elsewhere? What were her EC please? Thanks a lot
Hi, she did not apply to GW for ED1. The supplemental essay was very specific and did not apply to any other universities. ECs were broad (plus she spent 1.5 years at home during Covid) â clubs, jobs. Is your student applying ED2 or RD?
Thank you. Thinking RD but hesitant. I think ED2 may increase chances of acceptance no?
Is GWU has any supplements? My D24 couldnât find any supplements except the Honors essay. Can someone please respond?
Have they announced Admitted Student Day yet? Trying to plan out our spring break plans.
The last 2 years they have not announced them until close to the end of March when RD decisions come out. There were several dates to chose from within April.
Hi, I was wondering if you got in. Your stats are excellent.
Congrats to all those accepted pre-med ED1 to GW. This is my dream school for pre-med. Could you please help me by posting what APs, GPA, internships, ECs, did you do AP Physics? Which pre-med program in GW did you apply to?
I also wanted to clarify that I will be applying next year. My parents and I are using the same CC account and the D24 may have been misleading. Sorry. Thank you for any info. you may provide to help me.
GWU has an âoptionalâ supplement. You can see it in the common app. In quotes because they are a school that values demonstrated interest and completing the optional supplement is an important way to demonstrate interest! You can also google âGWU supplemental essaysâ and there is a website that seems to track all the supplemental essays for all/most colleges.
How did you meet with your regional admissions officer? What did you talk about if you donât mind me asking?
@Applying2college1 I know your question is posed to someone else but replying to say we were also able to meet with our GW regional admissions officer at a local college fair (not my Dâs school but a partner school to which students from our school were also invited). The regional AO gave my daughter her card and they exchanged emails after the college fair.
Yes, I did get in! A lot of it was I think that my grades were always increasing (went from a 3.4 to a 4.7). Also, GW is accepting a lot more kids ed this year and much less for regular.
Huge Congrats! Is it W GPA or Unweighted? Did you submit your SAT scores? which major did you apply to?
Whatâs your source that says they are accepting way more via ED vs RD?
Does anyone know when ED2 will be announced? Website says âby the end of February?â
They posted on Insta that ED2 decisions are out now.
