George Washington's Admissions Dean is Leaving

… at the end of this month (December) … in the middle of the admissions season.

[GWU admissions dean to retire following data misreporting to U.S. News - The Washington Post](http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/gwu-admissions-dean-to-retire-after-disclosure-of-misreported-data/2012/12/12/ab040148-447a-11e2-9648-a2c323a991d6_story.html)

That is too bad. It seems like she will be the scapegoat. Only 1/4 of the high schools in the country report class rank so the chances of MOST of all the other colleges estimating class rank are very likely. It’s too bad for GW too since they tried to do the right thing and be honest with Newsweek and tell them.

I agree, Mom.

Yes, true.

While so many students (and parents) rely on the magazine rankings, the proof in my mind of a successful university in this day and age of high unemployment is how many are employed upon graduation and where these students are employed. Clearly GWU does an excellent job. Too bad it is suffering a major black eye.
