A little late but…accepted into McDonough School of Business!
I feel so fortunate to have so many school options, including USC and Cornell. Making a college choice will definitely be a tough one (I love all three schools). Now I’m just waiting for the Financial Aid…
White Jewish Male, NoVa.

IMO had good essays and killed my interview.
Pretty disappointed because Georgetown was my absolute dream school. The other three schools I got accepted to all have at least one significant drawback (to be exact: location, program, cost, personal feelings) so I’m really not sure what I’m going to do.
Congrats to all those accepted! Current SFS sophomore here–I’m happy to answer questions anyone might have about Georgetown, whether its SFS specific or not. Congrats again and hoya saxa!
Found out I was admitted to the SFS on Saturday thanks to Informed Delivery, lol. I was deferred Early Action so I really had no faith that anything good would happen during the RD process. I’ve committed to a local state school already but after I get my financial aid stuff we will see if that changes.
SAT Subject Tests: All were terrible lol
ACT: 31
SAT:1350
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.95
Weighted GPA (out of 5.0): 4.712

Still shocked I got in with the test scores that I had…just goes to show so much more is considered in the process! Good luck to you all and Hoya Saxa!
@j1b2c3 Study abroad isn’t required, but many do study abroad (even if it’s only for a summer) and it’s a good way to get your language requirement done too, if you haven’t passed the proficiency test by then.
I got a nastygram from the moderators here last year for posting the letter with topline admission stats that goes out to all the interviewers, but I know the admissions office understands and expects that the info will be shared with applicants. It’s one of the reasons why they distribute it to all interviewers - so they can contextualize admissions decisions better for applicants who reach out to them post-decision. All this stuff gets put into the School Profile that’s published each summer anyway.
Anyway, paraphrasing is apparently ok, so here are some topline takeaways:
Slight decreases (~100 or less) in the number of applicants to College, SFS, and MSB. About a 12% increase in applicants to NHS
Totals: 3,202 admitted out of a total of 22,788 for an admission rate of 14.1%
Georgetown College: 1,857 out of 13,704 (13.6%)
Walsh School of Foreign Service: 596 out of 4,109 (14.5%)
McDonough School of Business: 527 out of 3,322 (15.9%)
School of Nursing and Health Studies: 222 out of 1,682 (13.2%)
Top Ten States/Regions in Applicant Pool:
California (2,632)
International (2,527)
New York (2,177)
New Jersey (1,629)
Maryland (1,250)
Virginia (1,181)
Massachusetts (1,153)
Florida (1,122)

Pennsylvania (968)
I hope this information provides some valuable context to readers here.
@KatCenter It noted the competitive applicant pool and commended me on my participation in specific extra-curricular activities they found especially impressive. They said they were looking forward to seeing me on campus next year.
@Bagelaz00 I believe all the SFS applicants who got in got a personalized letter. Or at least all the SFS kids in my year did. It’s a nice touch from admissions
