Georgetown and Prep Schools

Why do so many prep school matriculants go to Georgetown? It’s disporportionate to other schools in the same tier… and basically every NE prep has a horde of grads at Gtown… is it because Gtown is preppy?.. or do they favor Prep grads? Or is there some odd statistic of many Gtwon grads sending their kids to prep schools (legacies)? … what is it?

1) georgetown is a very good school

2) even top prep schools can’t send every student to the top top schools, and georgetown is much more accessible than Yale, Stanford, Brown, etc.

3) its a great school in D.C. - what i consider the best urban/city college setting after boston.

4) georgetown, like most catholic schools, will attract kids from catholic prep schools. its also much easier to get into georgetown from a catholic (and expecially a jesuit school) than it is from a public school - so more kids are just able to go

5) most kids at prep schools can afford to pay without worrying about getting enough aid

yea and Georgetown Prep is about 5 minutes from Georgetown University, and Visitation is next door.
