^^That article is interesting, but also a bit concerning. If I read it correctly, they seemed not to use the concordance tables for the old/new SATs, which really could have hurt people who submitted the old SAT…
definitely not going to get in
Hi! I was wondering if my lack of an SAT II would matter very much with my extenuating circumstances? I missed 5 months of school because of a hospital stay; i could only take the SAT/ACT once and SAT II in one trial (and still barely finished because of injuries). All of my test scores are good (1520, 35, 800 Math II and 720 Chem) considering the circumstances, but will the lack of the third SAT II really hurt my chances if I explained it on the common app?
@mathandpremed12 I think you are ok, especially if you explained your situation somewhere in the app.
I got rejected by UCLA don’t think I’m going to get in.
Georgetown is my first choice and the wait is killing me. Especially since its by snail mail and not at a specific time or even date. I’m probably not going to get in, but there’s that little bit of hope that I might. I just hope I don’t get waitlisted after being deferred.
@corgi1234 I heard that someone was rejected from UCLA but got accepted to MIT, so you never know!
^ happened to me today, lol. rejected from UCLA but accepted to UChicago. Anything can happen so keep your hopes up!
Decisions are being mailed out on Friday
@cisobelm How do you know?? Did they officially post about it somewhere?
I thought they were going out on the 27th. @cisobelm Thats what The Hoya said
Friday 24th is accepted students day for EA applicants so that might be a hard day for them to mail the letters.
The article in the Hoya stated, “The Office of Undergraduate Admissions plans to send out decisions for the regular decision cycle beginning the week of March 27 for applicants to receive their letters by April 1.”
Wow I applied to Georgetown kind of last minute and didn’t submit my SAT subject scores, just the ACT. I was thinking about emailing them but I’m sure it’s too late. Have people made it in without sending those scores? Thanks in advance
@hopelessopus12 if you have SAT II scores you must send them as georgetow does not allow score choice.
Ahh okay thank you. It’s probably way too late but I might just send scores+email them. @yonceonhismouth
I know because my dad was talking to his friend in the admissions office. Could be wrong, but it’s a pretty strong source.
Like this upcoming Friday? (The 24th)
Does Georgetown ever give a notice in advance about when decisions will be sent? Or will they say when decisions have already been mailed? I’ve seen in previous year threads that decisions usually get to us by March 26-27, so I’m assuming mid to end of the week in two weeks.
@Chardy yes, this upcoming Friday.
