On my applicant portal thing, it says “has not started yet” next to my counselor’s name under the Online LOR tab. I’m reasonably sure that she DID submit a letter (though I’m not sure if she mailed it, or just submitted it online). If she mailed it online, would it show up under this tab? Would they have emailed me had they not received my counselor review? Is there anyway to tell whether they received it or not? Sorry for all the q’s - i’m just slightly freaking out right now, and my counselor isn’t replying to my email…
Hey guys! As a current Georgetown student I just wanted to say good luck! They told us that we would be doing accepted student calling sometime next week so your letters should be coming soon. I know it’s a super stressful time but you guys are all going to do amazing things no matter where you end up. I hope to see a bunch of you on the Hilltop next year and if you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out! Hoya Saxa!
THEY ALREADY MAILED? TF
@silverphi, I spoke with admissions about a similar situation, and they said that they will always contact the applicant if anything is missing from the file. If you did not hear from them, your file is complete. When school counselors send a report by mail, for instance, it does not show up in the portal. Please do not worry.
@hhjjlala I don’t know if they’ve mailed it yet but I’m sure that they’ll mail it by Friday at the latest considering that they told us to be ready to call admitted students late next week/ early the week after!
wHAT the heckity hoo that’s way too soon
i was not mentally prepared
I remember someone posted a usps link showing how many days it would take to receive a letter. Most places was two days, including for me. If they send them tomorrow, that means I should get my letter Monday right?
This is my top choice and I’ve already been deferred. I’ll understand if I get denied, but please for the love of god do not waitlist me. I just want to make a final decision already.
@Jehochman thanks so much for the reassurance! i’m like 95% sure my counselor did submit it, but college acceptances have just got me so on edge about literally everything
@hoyabluegray Hi!!! What do you mean by admitted students calling? Would that be before we hear any result or after? Also, is there any online notice? I’m an international applicant and it would take a week by snail mail. Much thanks for taking time to answer our questions!
Really hope you guys are right and they send them today… i know we probably wont get them till monday anyway but still
I emailed the admissions office: they’re saying that the decisions will be sent by mail and that everyone should receive them around 1st April. I am international student, and if we’re receiving them by mail, I am fairly certain that domestic students will receive them the same way; I don’t think anyone will get an email.
@intapplicant123 Hey there! I’m an Early Action applicant who was deferred to the Regular round. All international applicants get an email for their admission results. I received my Early Action results the morning of December 15, in my time zone, via email. Hope this helps.
@nameisvivien Oh! I asked them and they told me that they mail the decisions. I guess we’ll have to wait and see; thanks for the info, though.
Guys, idk if anyone has already said, but my friend is at Georgetown right now for the accepted student weekend and she said that an admissions counselor told her that letters were sent out this morning.
@Amaaandafu All admitted students get a phone call from a Georgetown student welcoming them to Georgetown and answering any questions they may have. They don’t want it to happen until after you get your letters though which is why, since we got told to be ready for late next week or early the week after, that your letters are probably coming early next week!
Wow. Okay I live in Virginia so there’s a possibility that if letters were sent out today that I could get it tomorrow… tomorrow is my birthday okaaaaaaaaaaaay crying
At admitted student weekend they announced that the regular decision admission letters were put in the mail this morning
Any way you could get decisions over the phone if you’re going to be out of the town for the next few weeks?
I wonder whether internationals will begin getting emails today or next week
@JayZ42424
I’m sure there is a point where you can get decisions over the phone, but it is probably not for several days after they mail letters out. So calling today and saying you won’t be at your mailbox for a week is not likely to get anywhere, but calling next Wednesday or later and saying you haven’t had access to your mail for days might.
