Hey guys, I’m from South Carolina, and I was just looking on the USPS website. From the looks of it, most letters will take two days to arrive. The midwest states and parts of Cali will take 3, and Maryland and the surrounding DC area should take 1. It’s a pretty easy website to use if you want to see for yourself. Just search “USPS how long for my letter to arrive”.
@collegedream2017 I think international students will probably receive the e-mail on monday or tuesday
I think you might be looking at the Priority Mail page at USPS. I’m pretty sure these letters are being sent First Class, not Priority, so a lot of areas might be a day or two slower.
USPS does say “1-3 Business Days” for First Class, so almost everybody should get them Monday to Wednesday if mailed Friday. Though nearby places could get them Saturday, of course.
Could they come to the Philadelphia area by tomorrow?
@marlin98 nope. If they were mailed today, pretty much nobody will be receiving a letter until Monday. There’s a very tiny chance that a few folks in DC will get them tomorrow but it is incredibly unlikely. Most of the country can expect their letters next Tuesday or Wednesday (or Thursday or later if you live in a rural area) if the letters were really mailed today.
According to @cisobelm CA applicants should be notified by Wednesday or Thursday. I can’t wait lol
when do we find out for sure?
Would a thick envelope mean accepted, or could it also be a waitlist?
Decisions for RD sent out today! https://twitter.com/UgrdAdmissionGU/status/845382867333058561
rip me
@HSStudent938 From my experiences thus far, Waitlist letters have come in the same thin envelope as rejections or deferrals.
Not surprisingly, they didn’t make it through DC’s mail today. Still waiting here in the District.
@HSStudent938 thick envelopes mean acceptance, as Georgetown includes all the housing/enrollment forms in that envelope. A thin one would mean a waitlist or rejection.
They liked the gifs I sent to them lol at least if they reject me then I know they like my humor
How long does the priority mail express take to let’s say get to the northeast?
Internationals will be getting their decision email on Monday, according to the Twitter page.
@mackyg I loved those gifs! Made my day
Just some advice for all of you about to get your decision letters… If you are admitted, attend a GAAP weekend. I just completed the first half of the EA GAAP weekend, and it has made me 97% sure I will be attending Georgetown. It’s truly an in-depth comprehensive view of literally everything about the school and I couldn’t stop talking about it tonight at dinner.
Does anyone by any chance know how they are with giving international students financial aid?
@yonceonhismouth thanks for the advice! What major did you applied to?
