wait people are saying decisions are coming out today? is this true?
@TheCrimsonBulldog The USPS map shows three day delivery to New England. That would mean by tomorrow, 95% probability. I do not know if mail can arrive in fewer days than the standard. About 4% of letters arrive one day late, and 1% later yet.

@allima The email for internationals comes out today. US applicants get theirs through snail mail but the northeast should get ours today.
@allima the Georgetown twitter said that internationals would receive emails by Monday. Domestic applicants will get decisions when the letter arrives in the mailbox
@lmjdad1, please post the color of envelopes for accept or deny. Thanks!
@HYPSPlease I don’t think there is a color difference as much as a weight difference. EA came in same envelopes but different postage amounts. i.e. deferrals were either .44 or .46.
Acceptance envelopes for EA were noticeably thicker than your average business letter. There are about 3-4 sheets in it. I knew before she opened it that it was an acceptance (she didn’t know it came in a business envelope so she thought she was rejected).
Went to EA Accepted Students Weekend this past weekend. Exceeded our expectations. Georgetown is a VERY special place.
Good luck to everyone!!!
Just received letter, Wait listed, cream color envelope. Slightly heartbroken, slightly honored, still going to hold out hope that one of you brilliant people that gets accepted will go somewhere else. .46 postage. Good Luck
would you mind telling us where you are from? @Whynotme11
@collegemomjam, thanks for info.
@Whynotme11, thanks for info. You still have a chance from the wait list. But means more waiting…
Do acceptance come in letter form or a large envelop ?
2015-2016 common data set shows 149 students were accepted from the wait list out of 1249.
Sorry to hear, @whynotme11. Where are you from?
NC Thanks @HYPSPlease “Why Not Me?” That’s my motto. The problem is my safety school needs an answer by May 1st and the letter from Georgetown says they revisit the wait list in the second week of May. UGH! Oh and just so everyone knows the wait list envelope contained 3 pages and a return envelope, it is not just a single piece of paper.
@Whynotme11, was there a blue sheet or envelope in the wait list envelope?
@Whynotme11 I think you are free to send your deposit to your safety. Georgetown would expect you to and the safety would understand. You may not get the money back but I’m sure they expect a certain percentage of the students to ultimately withdraw because they were accepted off of wait lists. It happens all of the time. I know someone who got in off of a wait list (different school) last June, so it might be late. Hang in there! Keep your grades up and stay in touch with admissions as best as you can. Good luck!
@Whynotme11, I’m in the same situation. My safety school wants a decision by May 1st. At the same time, I’m currently on the UChicago wait list.
If need be, I’ll accept safety school by May 1st and then bail on them if I get off the UChicago wait list after May 1st.
No blue sheet. Envelope contained: Letter. Wait List Response Form, Recent Admission Rates Sheet.and a return envelope. Although you can respond electronically to remain on the wait list or to me removed from consideration. After thinking about it I am really shocked that I was even wait listed. My test scores were sorta sad, but everthing else was on target and I said “Go for it.”
@whynotme11 which part of NC? I saw on this map https://ribbs.usps.gov/modernservicestandards/ssmaps/find_map.cfm that some parts of NC were scheduled to take 2 days and then other parts 3. Just wondering because im in NY so it says 3 days.
@csheller16 it takes more time to deliver to NY than NC??
