yo what is GAAP?
I just got the email too! I think it’s just promotional… no indication of app status.
Are you referring to the Instagram Takeover Event TODAY email? Is that going to everyone or just admitted students?
would like to know this too ^
My son got it too.
Did anyone not get it?
I think that everyone got the email. The Instagram Takeover is on their public account so there would be no way to limit viewers to just accepted applicants. Also, decisions don’t come out for another three weeks. They probably do not have admissions decisions finialized yet.
Those of you that got the Instagram email (we got it), did your midyear grades line fall off your checklist or is it still there?
Mid-year line fell off, no longer on the checklist. Is that good or bad??
I’m not sure it’s smart to get super hyped up about Georgetown 3 weeks before the decision, when many will unfortunately find out shortly that they have not been accepted.
@redwag, not sure. Probably means nothing but just wondering if the same thing happened to others.
@collegemomjam @redwag mine did the same. Probably nothing.
when do you guys think decisions will be ready?
According to past dates, I would guess it’ll be during one of the last 3 days of this month. If you can, try to put it out of your mind until the end of March, since they’re unlikely to get back to us before then ?
Is anybody else really anxious?? I feel like I have been counting down the days for this since January lol
@collgedreamng121 I’m really anxious too! I was deferred early action and I’m trying not to completely give up on the chance of being accepted.
Is there any past data on the admission stats from the pool of deferred EA’s ?
@ind1974 I don’t have stats for specific past years, but I think they usually accept about 10-15% of applicants who were deferred EA.
10-15% is about 100ish or so I’m guessing?
It probably will be many more than 100 - Georgetown had 7,305 early action applicants this year and accepted 856 of those (around 11.7%). That means 6,449 applicants were deferred, so it is likely that 600 or more of those deferred applicants will be accepted. Typically, around 3,200 applicants are accepted overall. Check my math though, I could be wrong. Also, it’s important to remember that different schools (especially SFS) have different acceptance rates.
