Georgetown Class of 2024 Applicants Discussion Thread

Problem solved today on Ivy Day. Son accepted to 5 Ivies, all looking for around EFC from us. Good day. Somebody please enjoy our spot at Georgetown. White male from Chicago.

@collgedreamng121 our daughter just graduated in December from MSB. She transferred in as a junior so I can’t speak to the entire GT experience. She did study abroad in London winter 2019. The cost was the same for GT tuition, we paid less for room and board as we paid that directly to City College London. Our financial aid was still applied for the term.

As far as the business school, our daughter found it rigorous and supportive at the same time. She was upset initially when they asked her to retake some classes she had taken at her former college (Tulane) where she had received an A. She was shocked at how much more rigorous the class was at GT as she struggled to maintain a high B average. As far as career planning goes, you will get out of it, what you put into it. Meaning if you are proactive and work to get internships you will be fine. Our daughter thought she wanted to be in the Investment banking/ consulting world when she picked GT, but decided that she wanted to take a different path as she valued quality of life. She worked through a classmate to get an internship during school her junior year at a boutique private wealth managing firm in the area and was offered a full time role when she graduated. She was well prepared by GT and the GT name continues to open doors. Of course, GT was not perfect- but she is happy she chose it. (she was also accepted to USC and northeastern as a transfer student). Happy to answer any additional questions here or via PM. Good luck in making your decision and congratulations!!
