@MaloMoriQuamFoedari Yeah you should try calling them. I started my application in July and had my interview last month. I live near DC so there are probably more alums near me though.
Good luck!

What do you guys think would be better…having two strong Subject tests (750’s ish) and not a third at all or two strong and one on the low side (600?..guessing what the score would be). Applicant went REA (in which they say they understand if subject tests aren’t submitted yet) with one 750 on Math II. 1510 SAT. Top 5%. Trying to decide if the student should take two in December and risk getting a low one or just take one that they can do well on. Thanks for the advice!
This same student wished they had ED because it is the only school they want to go to!!!
Considering they ‘strongly recommend’ 3 subject tests (in other words, they expect students to submit 3 test scores unless there is a significant obstacle that prevents them to do so lol), I think the student should sit for 3 if they plan on applying to Georgetown. I doubt that having 2 awesome subject test scores and one not-as-good score will be such a significant factor in the application. It also helps if the subject tests taken relate to the major/college the student is applying to. Take this with a grain of salt though! I am also a senior in high school applying to Georgetown.
Hi! I applied EA to SFS, International Politics! Georgetown is my first choice.
Applying w/ a 3.85 UW GPA (low freshman year due to personal circumstances but 4.0 sophomore-senior year), 34 ACT, 700 in Bio M which I took almost 3 years ago. Just took SAT w/ essay yesterday, aiming for a 1500 but that’s unlikely. My school doesn’t rank. Pretty strong extracurriculars (4 years MUN, etc, foreign exchange program, etc) and LORs, plus fluency in 2 foreign languages and learning a third. Honestly my essays are kind of bad. My interview went really well though.
Context: Asian-Hawaiian female in HI, somewhat competitive private school, middle class
I’m the only person applying to GU at my school. Not sure what kind of chance I have though due to my low GPA but hopefully admissions will consider other parts of my application.
Good luck everyone!
@collegemomjam on their website Georgetown does state that you can send a mix of SAT subject tests with AP scores so that’s always an option. https://uadmissions.georgetown.edu/applying/preparation-process/
Thanks everyone for the replies. @buckybarnesx I tend to agree with you and the student is signed up to take two in order to have the three.
@sickofthisstuff My high school did not rank and I am currently studying in the SFS at Georgetown. I was accepted regular decision.
@cgcallis I would recomend taking the ACT again.I don’t know of anyone here at Georgetown with lower than a 31. That being said, they do exist.
So I just got an e-mail about a GAAP facebook thing, I was wondering if anyone else got it too. I’m applying EA to the College.
@GUBEAR Thank you.
@Stardust2187 yeah I’m going to do that. I wonder if there will be any admissions staff online though (would make questions about the culture a bit more awkward).
4.1 W GPA (11 AP’s - 5’s on 6 of them so far: taking the remaining 5 this year), 1480 SS SAT (700 ERW, 780 Math). SAT 2: 800 Math 2, 800 Bio E, 740 World History,
EC’s down below:
Extracurriculars: Editors Board for Model UN Club, Academic Team co president, Publicity chair for township education association, Jersey Boys State Delegate, BAE Systems summer intern, Treasurer for French Honor Society, FBLA, NHS member (along with other honor societies), Worked with a nonprofit fitness organization in my local town that also did work in nearby lower income cities, US Soccer Licensed Referee
Middle Class in NJ, single parent only working (worded weirdly: I have two parents but only one works, other is stay at home.)
Applying to McDonough School of Business
Interview: Went well, around 40 mins, guy seemed a little more shy than normal, but I asked him a question that apparently no one had ever asked him before.
I know my chances are probably extremely slim even though I am applying EA, but nonetheless I’m still hopeful!

Good luck to everyone else applying this year!
Did anyone else’s midyear report slot disappear from your application portal?
Mine disappeared as well
@mlee232 @buckybarnesx mine did too but does that mean anything?
Maybe because it was causing confusion and applicants thought their applications weren’t complete or wouldn’t be reviewed until the midyears were received?
Anybody else think the Georgetown essays are excessive
@benandjerrys101 excessive in what way? as in too may essays?
Hello. I am new to this website. I’ve been obsessed with Georgetown ever since my Sophomore year. I would appreciate any help with my status compared to the general applicants for Georgetown.

The interview went very well. The lady was very nice and conversational. It was more of a conversation than an interview. I spoke mainly about my family and what I did at school. It went for over an hour.
Some of my friends read my essays and gave positive feedback, saying that it feels authentic and personal. Also very detailed regarding Georgetown’s mission and its biophysics programs and study abroad opportunities.
Extras
Co-president of Young Republicans Club
Virginia’s Spanish Governor’s School
Vienna Youth Soccer Head Coach
Kids Teaching Kids Club Board of Directors
NHS Junior/Senior Year
Math/Science/Spanish Honors Society
Football From Freshman to Junior Year
Babysit young brother 12 hrs/week due to parents being unavailable, so that’s why my EC’s were poor
I did not win any significant awards except for being a full IB Diploma Candidate, Honors society membership, and selection to Virginia Gov School, which accepted less than 10% percent of the applicants
Georgetown is my dream school, but the chances of getting in are slim. I will hope for the best, though. Good luck to everyone else ?
