Hi everyone
Is there any Early Action applicants with two awaiting slots(for mid-year report and recommendation from counselor) in the portal checklist? I remember that one awaiting slot disappeared last month and now it seems like it reappeared.
@nerdyextrovert As an RD applicant, I have not even submitted my application yet and I had my interview in early October. Something’s up here. I filled out a form last year with my information that they emailed to me. I think that’s the form that initiated the interview process rather than the actual application considering mine is not even submitted. I would call the admissions office. Probably doesn’t have anything to do with level of interest in your application.
@anjajrwl what’s next to these two new slots? Are there red X’s or green checks or nothing?
@anjajrwl Same for my D20’s portal. But I don’t think it means anything - specifically says “Please note that the Mid-Year Report is not due for submission to the admissions office before February 10, 2020. Your checklist will show Mid-Year Report and the second listing of your counselor’s name as incomplete until both of these forms are submitted at the conclusion of your fall term.” So I assume the reappearance was just triggered by a date - it seems to have confused people that the 2nd counselor recommendation was showing as missing after everything else was in.
Good luck to everyone awaiting EA decisions out there!
This is probably a really basic question, so sorry to bother. I was under the impression that EA decisions will be out the 15th, and that they will come by snail mail rather than online. But since the 15th is a Sunday (ie no mail) does that mean decisions will come on the 14th or 16th instead?
@benandjerrys101 & @buckybarnesx Thank you for the replies. At this point, do you think it is too late for me to contact the adcom since EA applicants should be interviewed in Oct/Nov? I am just afraid they will think I lack an interest by not contacting them sooner.
Would not having an interview have a drastic impact on my application?
Not having an interview when you were never contacted with the name of your interviewer will not have a drastic impact on your application. I’ve been an alumni interviewer for nearly 25 years, and the school has always been clear that the purpose of the interview is to learn more about the applicant, and it does not have a large impact on the admission decision. Only in cases where the person is really on the border would the interview have an impact.
I don’t think it could hurt to let them know you never received an interview.
@KeystoneDad Thank you so much for the replies. I think I should let the adcom know.
As an international student, will I be notified via email or snail mail?
I listed my mailing address as my school in the US though.
You will receive an email
Hi everyone! I’m applying RD for neurobiology at Georgetown. I’ve already submitted my app and gotten an interview. Good luck to all those that applied ED!
My dean told me today that admissions emailed that they would mail on the 12th. Probably means Saturday delivery for most, Monday for a lot too.

Will they email the decisions to the international applicants on the 12th too?
@amcrdih from reddit /A2C: “ I spoke to my dean yesterday and she said she’s still reading early action apps so I don’t know how true this could be. Best of luck though, y’all. - current student :)” how did your dean get the information?
People got their decisions on the 14th last year so I’m fairly certain they will have been done reading ea by now?
Georgetown doesn’t have ED
hey all! was wondering if you know how the notification process for georgetown works. i applied EA and i’m hearing different things from everyone (i.e. arriving in the mail, finding out through the portal then through mail, etc.) Thanks!
Does anyone know when letters will be mailed? I haven’t seen anything on the admissions Twitter yet; they usually post when they send the mail off.
Last year they mailed on the 14th, but I think they were sent today.
