Just for reference, I got accepted EA and received the mail from Gtown today. It was a thick windowed envelope with a $0.65 postage. I live in the midwest.
does anyone know when financial aid packages come? i know it wont be for a while but i just want to have some idea of when
People who got deferred EA, are you planning on sending a letter of continued interest to your admissions rep?
Yep
Where do we send the letter of continued interest? Like is there a specific email where we send this email?
I assume its either your admissions counselor or the admissions office itself. I suggest emailing or calling them to make sure.
Hi everyone!
I’m applying as a Government major for the RD pool.
Does anyone know how much weight the interview pulls in the admissions decision? I just had mine yesterday and the interviewer was very impressed with what I brought to the table.
I’m also applying with a 31 ACT but no SAT subject tests- will that hurt me at all?
@ashclark18 The interview, though it is important, will not make or break your application. I applied and was accepted EA into the NHS with a 33 act and no subject tests. But then again, I applied EA and took my subject tests after the deadline and indicated that in my app. You are RD, hence you would’ve had the chance to take the November and December ones before the deadline. Do you have a reason that you have not?
Is there a way to see if your teacher recs and other forms have been received by Georgetown?
@klb222 does it not show up on your portal?
Has anyone called the admissions office to figure out where to send our letter of continued interest?
Did anybody else just get an email extending their personal application deadline to sunday jan 12? I want to believe this is legit, but there are two typos in the email, so I am a bit sus. Can someone else confirm?
I got it too and thought it was a little odd. There aren’t any links to the Georgetown website, so that added a level of suspicion in addition to the spelling errors. I want to believe it because we all make spelling errors.
Did you check the email address it was sent from?
Yeah it’s the same as all other Georgetown emails.
I got that email too. I am going to email my area’s Georgetown representative just to make sure its real. The extra two days would definitely be beneficial.
Wondering about that too, Website says beginning of April I think
I called the admissions office and apparently you can just upload your Letter of Continued Interest on the Application Change Request Form in the application portal.
So is the application really due January 12th now? Did anyone end up calling the admissions office?
I applied RD as a Global Health major.
I’m very worried because my testing scores are low (31 ACT, no subject tests).
3.98 UW and 4.2 W GPA
Really strong letters of rec
Good essays as far as I can tell.
I have strong EC’s which i am hoping can set me apart. Just to name a few… two year team captain of a very large speech and debate team where I have been very successful in competing at the state and national level.
I work with the mayor to increase youth involvement in politics and voter turnout. I am also the first youth member on two boards in our city where I hold leadership positions. And then of course the standard volunteering, work, NHS, etc.
I had an interview and I think it went well, we connected really well.
Do I have a shot??
