Hey does anyone know who I should contact to turn down my admissions offer? I won’t be attending GU and I really want to open up a spot for someone else ASAP- I’ve been able to withdraw my other applications online on the school’s application portals but Georgetown doesn’t have that.

@aihcxx you should just be able to email your admissions official or admissions@georgetown.edu to do it

@gtowntransfers are you official admissions? I requested an accelerated reading of my application so I can decide on a school by June 1 and have still yet to hear anything.

@Itsmoose365 Dude, you are on college confidential and admissions decisions come out by or on the 1st so don’t be impatient and ask some random person on here if they are addmisions.

@itsmoose365 oh, was I asking you?

@Itsmoose365 I think you tried tagging the wrong person, man. But in reality, asking someone if they’re official admissions on a forum is unprofessional. Have you tried making a phone call to the admissions office, find out who your committee directors are and obtained their emails?

has anyone still not received an admission decision yet? i haven’t

@Robinyoursoul, I’m rooting for you. On Tuesday, Georgetown offered my youngest son a spot in Georgetown College. Now, I follow this thread solely for the purpose of tracking your application. My oldest son is an Army officer.

Vets unite! Lets get this…

@What_rock well, to say I’m flattered is an understatement! Thank you for the extra bit motivation being that I could use as much as possible.

Congratulations to your son on getting in to Georgetown; a great achievement.

Hopefully I, as well as other veterans awaiting decisions from Georgetown, hear back this upcoming week!

@Robinyoursoul I emailed both emails given to me with no response.

@Robinyoursoul so I guess I’m just waiting and if I lose the $800 I don’t have as a deposit to GW then that’s what happens.

If we follow last year’s thread, we should begin seeing some denials.
Good luck!

@Robinyoursoul I think you have singled handedly made this year’s transfer thread over ten pages longer then last. I’m impressed. I’m rooting for you, man!

Hey everyone! so someone messaged me and asked me what the acceptance email looks like so I thought I would put it here for you guys to see too. Also, they send you the same thing in the actual mail.

There are more pages to the email but it has info for like putting in the $900 deposit and isn’t relevant

don’t lose hope everyone there is still a lot of time

Subject: Transfer Decision Letter

Dear iMacHD:

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Committee on Admissions has voted to accept your application for transfer admission to Georgetown University. I am happy to offer you a place in the class beginning in the fall of 2017.

You are to be congratulated on your admission in a very competitive process. This year, Georgetown's Admissions Committees considered nearly 2,200 transfer candidates for approximately 190 spaces. Enclosed you will find further information explaining details of your admission and enrollment. Your Dean’s Office at Georgetown will send an evaluation of your transfer credits to you separately. When you have reached your decision to attend Georgetown, please return the enclosed Enrollment Agreement Form along with the required $900 deposit. This deposit must be received by June 15, 2017 to confirm your place in the class.

I am pleased to speak for the entire Georgetown community in welcoming you to the University. I will look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Charles A. Deacon
Dean of Undergraduate Admissions

Also I looked through last years post like @Robinyoursoul suggested and people started getting rejected on the 27th BUT they accepted people up until the deadline so don’t worry.

When rejections started coming out:

Should we start totally freaking out if we haven’t received a decision yet? When you guys say you’re calling to find out who’s reviewing your app and then emailing them…what are you saying in the email? Any advice on what to do?
