Georgetown Fall 2017 Transfer

NO ONE FROM CALIFORNIA CALLS IT CALI

Anyway, Gtown’s FA package, while more generous than most private schools for me, is $10k more expensive than Berkeley’s (in-state tuition)… That along with travel costs (tickets back to California are ~$500), makes it too expensive for me, I think. I’m pretty bummed. I wanted to go. But Berkeley is just as awesome in different ways! Hopefully they have a waitlist for transfers and someone who can afford it gets my spot! Man… So bummed lol

@lexluther96 I’m so sorry, Lex :frowning: Can I ask which college you applied to?

That was extra lol maybe us folk in San Marino like to say Cali, but sorry to read about your situation. My sister went to Berkeley and loved it! Good luck!

Has anyone received the FA package yet? I sent an email to the financial aid office but to no avail!

Hey guys, I used the other thread and seem to be a little late on this one, but I thought I’d throw my stats on here just cuz.

-I think the alumni interview went super well.

Downsides:
-ACT score isn’t impressive, nor is my high school GPA

Its a little irritating that Georgetown doesn’t release decisions online, but I guess it keeps me checking the mail on a daily basis.

Good luck (in Marco from Tropoja voice) to everyone

Tomorrow a year ago was rejection day. It’s been a nice thread

I really hope decisions come out tomrow. Really just want to know ethier way at this point. 95% sure its a rejection though.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow, I hope to see some of you on campus. Don’t lose hope, my friend wasn’t accepted until June two years ago. I hope to see some of you on campus!

Yeah. If I don’t here anything tomorrow I will most likely be putting in my deposit for GWU; also; remember it’s a long weekend so that brings it closer to the end of the month before finding out.

Yes good point. Think very likely we will get lots of rejects tomrow. But who knows lol. They could wait till 6/1 to send them out.

FYI for anyone applying to SFS, the minimum time to graduate the program is 3 years. I found that out a couple days ago. I just finished my sophomore year in my last institution but in GU I will be considered a sophomore again once I start this Fall. Thought I should mention that for anyone that has plans to attend.

@Gonzalo0927 I’m not in SFS but why? That’s really awful

that’s pretty terrible

@SallyByGravenor I applied to the college. And thanks! Good luck!

Come on already

Today has to be the day. I haven’t looked at the 2015 transfer thread but I’m assuming they send out decisions/rejections before the long weekend.

Edit: just looked at the 2015 thread and today seems like it’ll be the day following the last two years - of course, some people didn’t hear until the first.

hey guys, I don’t know why I didn’t post this before but here is the common data set for Georgetown

https://georgetown.app.box.com/s/9jl4131mahzqjtajsj24vyaq2tey797b

It has a section on transfers and FA that might be helpful. also these are available for most schools online so you can get some great information. (Im also posting this for the people next year who read this although they should look for an updated one)

Nothing today but trying (failing) to be patient. :frowning:
